Challenges
Credit Benchmark had a differentiated product in a growing market, but almost no visibility outside of branded searches and highly technical, informational queries that weren't converting into anything commercial. When they came to Exceed in June 2025, their blog had a bunch of content, but it was producing 282 monthly organic sessions, ranking for zero keywords, and driving 2 AI referral sessions per month.
Pipeline mainly came from outbound, ABM, paid ads, and quarterly events. All of it required continuous investment to sustain, and none of it compounded. They had no channel that consistently engaged their audience without relying on paid spend, which meant pipeline generation was inconsistent, and CAC stayed in the higher end.
Their buyers were actively searching for specific solutions and answers to the exact problems Credit Benchmark solves.
The opportunity was huge based on the search demand around their category. The blog had the potential to capture it and work as a 24/7 demand generation engine. But up until this point, it simply hadn’t been optimized to achieve that.
Growth summary
We started by identifying the search behaviour of their ICP, focusing on the specific searches Credit Benchmark's buyers made when they felt the pain most acutely, and when they were closest to making a decision.
That meant mapping every high-intent query their buyers were actively searching for. Not broad educational topics. Searches tied to real, immediate problems, such as solution comparisons, counterparty risk frameworks, probability of default methodology. Content that intercepted buyers at the moment they were looking for answers.
Every piece was structured to do three things in sequence. Validate the problem, expose why existing solutions fall short, and position Credit Benchmark as the most credible answer. We achieved this through subject matter depth that earns trust from both the reader and Google.
We backed the content with targeted link building and brand placements in authoritative financial and fintech publications. Referring domains grew from 778 to 1,200 and backlinks from 5 to 14,000, giving Google the domain authority signals it needed to rank a content programme starting from zero, and building the third-party validation LLMs draw from when recommending solutions in the category.
We layered a GEO strategy on top. As buyers increasingly turn to ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini to research credit risk solutions, appearing in those answers requires the same foundation as traditional SEO: being the most authoritative, well-structured source on the topic. The content was built to satisfy both simultaneously.
